Senior Transmission Line Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on solving complex electric transmission challenges. The candidate will design HV and EHV overhead and underground systems for major national utilities. This role involves applying industry standards, performing engineering analyses, and preparing technical documentation for infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Design HV/EHV overhead and underground transmission systems
- Perform engineering analysis and develop technical documentation
- Collaborate with planning, environmental, and construction teams
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
- Supervise team members and mentor junior staff
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 4+ years of transmission design experience
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD
- Knowledge of NESC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC standards
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Job Details
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Perform engineering and design of electric transmission line projects (HV and EHV overhead and underground systems).
- Apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, and other relevant industry standards.
- Perform engineering analyses, prepare bidding documents, draft plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in electric utility transmission system design.
- Proficiency in reviewing transmission line designs, including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
- Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
- Leadership experience and ability to supervise others.
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Periodic travel may be required.
