Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Web Development Lead to guide the design, development, and operation of our public-facing and internal web platforms. This role requires a senior-level technologist who balances strong technical leadership with active involvement in architecture and implementation. You will mentor engineers while partnering closely with product, UX, and business stakeholders to build performant and accessible web experiences.

Position Overview
This position is based in the Seattle, WA area and follows a hybrid remote/in-office schedule, requiring in-office collaboration 3 days per week. The role involves leading the design, development, and operation of web platforms while remaining deeply involved in architecture, implementation, and technical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Technical Leadership
- Act as a technical leader contributing to architecture, development, code reviews, and standards.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable web applications.
- Drive an AI-forward engineering culture using tools like Codex or Claude Code to improve efficiency.
- Evolve overall web platform architecture to align with long-term business goals.
- Champion modern web development patterns, performance, security, and accessibility.
- Partner with UX/UI designers to ensure high-quality user experiences.
Delivery, Quality & Operations
- Ensure development work is well-scoped, designed, and delivered predictably.
- Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Drive performance optimization and support production readiness, including monitoring and incident resolution.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work cross-functionally with Product, UX, Marketing, and backend engineering teams.
- Communicate technical trade-offs, risks, and impacts to stakeholders.
- Influence technical direction through leadership and credibility.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and coach web developers at varying experience levels.
- Foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Support hiring efforts by assessing technical expertise.
Required Technical Skills & Expertise
- Sitefinity CMS (content modeling, templates, widgets, modules) and Sitefinity APIs.
- ASP.NET and C# web application development.
- HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and modern frameworks (React, Angular, Vue).
- SQL Server (data modeling, query development, performance optimization).
- Responsive, mobile-first design and WCAG accessibility standards.
- Third-party integrations (payment systems, Zuora, Google reCAPTCHA, Maps API).
- Version control (Git) and Agile/Scrum workflows (JIRA).
- Cloud-based hosting environments (Azure preferred).
- Performance optimization (caching, image optimization) and CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications
- Significant experience leading or owning web development initiatives in a production environment.
- Strong proficiency in modern web development technologies and CMS-driven platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical work with team leadership.
- Experience delivering customer-facing web solutions at scale.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Preferred: Experience leading CMS platform migrations or major site redesigns and background in marketing or e-commerce teams.
